China's packaging industry lacks technical innovation and high technology

In recent years, the rapid development of the food industry has led to the progress of the food processing and packaging machinery industry. Industrial census data show that China currently has nearly 6,000 food processing and packaging machinery enterprises, but most of them are small and medium-sized enterprises. According to the China Food Processing and Packaging Machinery Industry Association statistics, in July this year, China's food processing and packaging machinery industry's main 1247 enterprises to achieve a total industrial output value of 46.96 billion yuan, of which new product output value of 27.91 billion yuan, an increase of 33.06% over the same period last year; Industrial sales output value of 45.4 billion yuan, an increase of 24.82% over the same period last year. China Machinery Industry Federation expects that from 2011 to 2015, the total output value of food processing and packaging machinery industry is expected to exceed 600 billion yuan, and the annual average growth rate will remain at about 16%.

However, another set of statistics from the China Machinery Industry Federation reflects the problems existing in China's food processing and packaging machinery industry. In terms of operating efficiency, in the first half of this year, the profit margin of the entire machinery industry increased by 86.13%, of which, the food processing and packaging machinery industry was the lowest, increasing only to 26%.

So what kind of development state is China's food processing and packaging machinery industry in the end, and where are the bottlenecks restricting the development of the industry?

According to media reports, the per capita labor productivity of most enterprises in China's food processing and packaging machinery line is below 100,000 yuan, and the scale of enterprises is small. And the state of the industry is extremely unstable, every year nearly 15% of the enterprises change production or close down, and about 15% of the enterprises join the industry. In addition, the industry suffers from low levels of duplication. At present, about 1/4 of the enterprises in the industry ignore the development requirements of the industry, repeat the production of those low cost, backward process level, easy to manufacture mechanical products, which is a great waste of resources, hindering the development of the industry.
